Distribution:
Rhaebo colomai is found in three locations; two in Ecuador in the Carchi Province, and one in Colombia in the Nariño Department (Figure 2) [1]. It is found between 1180-1500m above sea level and over a range of 876km2 [1]. There have been no sightings of this species in Ecuador since 1984 [1].
Details:
The Carchi Andes Toad occurs in secondary evergreen, pre-montane forests on vegetation and rocks near streams [1]. They can be found active in both the day and night, perching on vegetation up to 1m above the ground [1]. Breeding habits are unknown [1].
This species occurs in one protected area in Colombia, which holds 21-30% of the population (~900 individuals) [1]. It hasn't been recorded in Ecuador since 1984 [1]. Research is needed into the current status of this species in Ecuador [1].
