Distribution:
This species is found only in the eastern Fujian province, China (Figure 2) [1]. It is found at 110-550m above sea level, in an area covering ~10km2 [1].
Details:
This species can be found in marshy land along the edges of pools, ponds, and streams [1]. They have also been found at the edge of rice paddies [1]. The populations are severely fragmented with a continually declining habitat and population size [1]. Breeding occurs in still water habitats [2]. Adults are approximately 27-29mm in length [2]. One population, in Fuzhou, has gone locally extinct [1]. There are currently no conservation actions in place, efforts are urgently needed to prevent extinction [1].
